The 2016 Chevy Camaro is on this year’s Car and Driver 10Best List, an annual list made by the magazine honoring the 10 best cars of the year.
Car and Driver cited the Camaro’s exceptional handling made possible by electric-assist steering and front-end grip, along with great path control and tightly controlled motions. According to Car and Driver, the Camaro is “a fully modern sports coupe,” and that “a trustier back-road companion is hard to come by.”
Called “a Corvette with a backseat,” the Camaro’s performance is unparalleled in the segment, with Car and Driver calling its V6 engine the best six-cylinder GM has ever produced.
Chevrolet Car Marketing director Steve Majoros says this honor from the 10Best List gives Camaro the recognition it deserves as the “performance-car segment benchmark.” After a 5-year streak as the best-selling performance car, Chevy built on the popular fifth generation Camaro to create the brand new sixth gen, which is lighter, more nimble and aerodynamic, and more powerful than ever.
